1. Should I contact the Town first before contacting the Department of Municipal Affairs?

It depends.
Certain answers like permits, orders and revocations are more easily answered by the Towns involved than the Department.

Interpretation about zoning, development and policy questions and situations pertaining to Development Regulations and Municipal Plans, and questions about the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000.

All legislation under the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000 and Municipalities Act, 1999, Protected Road Zoning Regulations and all regulations under the Act.
