Responsible for:

  Providing direct information technology services and systems support to the Departments of Municipal & Provincial Affairs , Government Services & Lands, Industry Trade & Rural Development.
  Leading the development of appropriate information technology (IT) practices in the three departments.
  Managing the central information technology function for the three departments.
  Developing, administering and negotiating with suppliers of information  technology    products and services for the ongoing IT services for the three departments.
  Managing IT budgeting, policy & planning for the three departments.
  Reviewing and administering security practices related to government data, procuring related goods and services, developing and managing technology standards, and integrating appropriate data and systems for the three departments.
  Liaison with department officials to identify system development needs of the three departments.
  Managing IT quality assurance function for the three departments for which this IT Division is responsible and establishing objectives and plans to maximize the benefit received from the three departments' investments in information technology.
